1. 4-H Project Leader Mentors be recruited and trained to provide general support to new project leaders. Each mentor would be assigned 2-3 new project leaders each year. Their responsibilities would be to:
l Become familiar with the by-laws of the new leaders' club
l Contact new leader as soon as possible
l Offer assistance in getting started with project
l Reinforce the importance of holding meetings
l Encourage leaders to plan activities that will contribute to the development of leadership, citizenship and life skills among the members
l Offer suggestions for planning and implementing successful projects and meetings
l Call the new leaders at least three times a year to offer support and encouragement;
l Answer questions about the county 4-H program as needed
