Kings County 4-H Horse Information -  Countywide Horses Project 

 4-H State Equine Information 

 Mark your claendars!! The State 4-H Equine Field Day at uc Davis on Saturday, October 24, 2010 has just been confimed.

The program for the State 4-H Equine Field Day at UCD on October 24th is being finalized.  Here’s a draft of the confirmed speakers and presentations.  The UCD Department of Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital, UCD alumni and local horse resources have workshops planned just for you!   In addition, Charles Wilhelm, an internationally known horse trainer will be presenting an afternoon session for everyone.  At lunch time, the California Cowgirls Drill Team will be performing.  If you want to ride in a wagon drawn by draft horses, be sure to bring your helmet.  Everyone also needs to wear appropriate shoes; no open toed; boots are preferred!
 
The pre-registration is due Friday, OCTOBER 16th.  Group discounts are for 10 or more with one check payment.  The flyer is enclosed for your convenience.  OR go to the web site at http://ca4h.org/projresource/horse/#2 for the form and to read more about the day.

2009/10 Kings County Horse Project

Hello everyone.  Well with the new 4H year starting up we just wanted to inform you of the next 2 Horses meetings that we have planed this far.  We listed them in Youth Talk, but in the event you don't get that we wanted to shoot out a quick email.

First meeting will be Sunday Oct. 4th at 1:00 pm at the Tompkins house.  17612 Lacey Blvd.
We will be discussing what we are hoping to accomplish this year and plan some meetings. Bring your horse, because after this short meeting we wanted to test everyone on their saddling and riding ability.  This will help us to come up with a plan for the year as to what we need to work on.

We will have a 2nd meeting in Oct. which will be our Halloween Playday on Sunday Oct. 25th at 1:00 pm at the Aragon's house 11388 13th Ave.  Hanford.  Make sure you come in costume, and don't forget your horse (but please know your animal and make sure they can handle being dressed up)!  We will have mounted and unmounted games for everyone.

We will be having dinner at the playday, and will be putting together a committee on Oct. 4th for those who would like to help plan the games and dinner.

I need to clean up my mailing list, so if you are not going to be part of our group this year please let me know so that I can update my system and get you off of our mailing list.
